I am a central Govt employee holding pmt CGHS Card. Pre-1996 retiree. We will be adversely affected as presently we are entitled for semi private ward and in the new scheme we will be in general category. Secondly how we will get the medicines for the general illness etc. in case we surrender the CGHS card? Will we have to buy from the mkt or the insurer will make some other arrangement for supply of medicines? More than 60% patients go in for medicines only and rarely have to be admitted in hospital.
