OK! I've been having pain on my right lower side of the abdomen and I have been having muscle spasms. I have also been having nausea and vomiting. I went to the hospital and all they did was run some blood tests and checked my urine for a uti. They sent me off for an x-ray and when they got all the results back the only thing wrong was that I had a uti. So they gave me antibiotics and sent me home. After 5 days of taking the antibiotics I was still having the same stomach problems. So 2 days after I finished the pills I waited and went in to see my doctor. She ordered an ultrasound to check my appendix and pancreas. The results take a few days to come back and it has been over 5 days now and the muscle spasms are getting worse and I still have pain in my right side. Should I be concerned?

My friend had surgery for a ruptured appendix about a month ago. He resumed very light strolling yesterday for about 20 minutes, however, during the night he awoke with headaches three times. Could this be as a result of the stroll and is it ok for him to resume very light exercises right now.

I had my appendix taken out last Friday [5/25]. It's 5 days later and I still can't keep even a sip of water down. I am vomiting non-stop and have diarrhea. Actually that has pretty much stopped seeing that because I don't have food in my system I don't have anything to crap out of me. I just can't stop the vomiting / dry heaving. I had the worse Dr. on the planet. Seriously, these people shoved a breathing tube down my throat, jammed my upper lip all up on my face to where now I have complete numbness in my upper lip, it's swollen, and when I brush my teeth my entire mouth fills with blood because the inside of my mouth like my gums are raw. Anyway, should I wait it out another night or go into the E.R.? I feel like I am going to die. I hate this!!!! I just want to feel better!!!!!

My cousin [17 years old] felt the pain of appendicitis and he was taken to the hospital although the pain was not that severe. Doctor diagnosed appendicitis and preferred an operation after 6 weeks. He was brought back home. Another doctor said that the inflammation is at initial stage and could be treated with medicines. My cousins's grandmother also got appendicitis and had more severe pain but the same doctor treated her with medicines and up till now, its been 12-13 years, she does not feel any kind of pain or complications. Same is the case with our another relative of the same family. CAN MEDICINES REALLY CURE IT IF IT IS IN STARTING STAGE??? PLEASE REPLY ME SOON. THANKYOU :) WAITING....

Surgery is most preferred way by most doctors, because appendicitis can cause complications and they can become life threatening.

yes i would also recommend a surgery since the risks of retaining an inflamed appendix are too great. Also you would like to consider that the appendix in humans has no significant function and the operation has a very low risk of complications
