Hi, my friend has just had an emergency appendectomy and I noticed he had been drinking profusely for about 3weeks prior to the incident. He is a heavy drinker at the age of 20 and increased his alcohol intake lately to a phenomenal amount. Would this have had any effect on his development of acute appendicitis. I have found lots of articles on the link between smoking and appendicitis, but not alcohol consumption.

Hi my daughter 13 years got opperated for appendicitis (open surgery) 10 days ago. Since the appendicitis was not in the normal place the cut was a bit long. After 10 days we have noticed a very tiny drop like yellowish thin fluid coming out of the cut in one particular place. Please advise why and what precaution to be taken.

hey i'm 16 yrs old and i had my appendix operation about a month ago, recently or jst about a week ago i noticed that the cut under my belly button has something that is drak in colour, dark blue or black or grey, something along those lines. Does this mean that my cut is infected..i was meant to see the surgeon but was too busy catching up on my school work and exams.
Your help is very much appreciated,, thanks a lot

I just had my appendectomy 11 days ago, and my surgeon told me when the incisions start to heal they may turn black and blue. however, if you feel something isn't right, you should ask your dr. better safe than sorry...hope this helps!
