Klinefelter's Syndrome

Klinefelter’s syndrome is a condition in which men have an extra X chromosome in most of their cells – an XXY pattern instead of the normal XY pattern that most men have. Boys with the XXY-condition tend to have language problems and lesser muscle tone than other boys, and they tend to have trouble fitting in. But as adults, most of them lead normal, successful lives.

My son is 17; soon to be 18. I suspect that he has Klinefelters. Should I consult a specialist for a diagnosis/treatments?

The disorder of the human sex chromosomes is called Klinefelter syndrome, that occurs in males. Many treatment are available for this such as testosterone replacement, fertility treatment, surgical treatment. The fertility treatment is, intracytoplasmic injection of sperm has been reported and has proved to be very successful. This technique uses sperm aspirated from the testes of men with Klinefelter syndrome with a theoretical risk of passing on the extra chromosome.

4rm draktt- I think i have KS. The phenotype matches: small testes, gynecomastia, muscular dystrophy,.Though i'm very hairy and have an above average IQ. I want to know if testosterone therapy will benefit me cos i'm in my mid-twenties. And if yes, if it will improve my guy-mastia.

I dont know if this will help anyone or maybe it will make me feel better. i had testicular cancer 10 years ago. found out that I have KS, have been taking medicine to help testosterone for sevral years. some side effects. i tend to get angry, short fuse, and can be a threat to others. but i have learned to deal with this. hopefully iam not the only one who feels like a genectic outcast.
