Klinefelter's Syndrome

Klinefelter’s syndrome is a condition in which men have an extra X chromosome in most of their cells – an XXY pattern instead of the normal XY pattern that most men have. Boys with the XXY-condition tend to have language problems and lesser muscle tone than other boys, and they tend to have trouble fitting in. But as adults, most of them lead normal, successful lives.

As a mental health/DD nurse,I have experience dealing with this genetic disorder. The individuals that I work with had to be placed in group homes or state facilities due to anger, rage, and sexual over drive. These guys are very behavioral and many need 24 hour supervision due to the lack of impulse control.

Preposterous, Jennifer. There are countless youths and adults leading mostly normal lives that have xxy. One needs to look at other possibilities such as PANDAS, which makes sense as KS kids are prone to immune disorders [see above]All KS boys are different, do not burn down houses as a group

Jennifer, either you are an idiot or you have no clue what you are talking about. The majority of XXY males tend to be more or are reported being more docile, and due to minimal testosterone production they lack sexual drive. Males with XYY [which have an overload of testosterone] instead of XXY(too little T) have been stereotyped as being aggressive, however the characteristics of every individual vary person to person. Don't try to categorize all people into one group. I have KS XXY and I'm a registered nurse too, the difference between your and my knowledge in this area is vast. Maybe you should do more research before you comment again and perhaps you will look like less of a fool.

i would advice that before anyone takes hormone treatment, to consult with a urologist, the reason i say this is because people with klinfelter's are sometimes able to father children through TESE and IVF (in recent studies 50 to 70% of patients), and hormone therapy "DECREASES" the chances for that.
