Dear Experts, are the brain and the mind same or they are two different matters? Does brain control the mind or mind control the brain? I want to know especially from the view of modern scientific views as well as ancient Vedic literature Chandogaya Upanishad and Bhagavat Gita.

I'm a 24 year old male (Indian). I experience symptoms such as breathlessness, pounding feel (in the chest), etc. when I get anxious (such as being involved in a tense situation) or excited (such as attempting to sing in a party, getting to the stage to receive an award, etc.). Once I calm down, these symptoms disappear and they generally don't last for more than 2 - 3 mins. Sometimes I feel like being unable to breathe for a fraction of a second but get normal after that. I have experienced these symptoms several times over the last 8 years or so. I also experienced palpitation once in Dec 2005 (lasted for about 15 mins) and once more recently in July 2010 (lasted for an hour). For long, I thought I was perhaps suffering from a heart problem (I never met a doctor though), but off late, I learnt on the net that there's something called an anxiety disorder whose symptoms are similar to cardiac symptoms. That had me wondering if I too could be sufferring from an anxiety disorder. I want to meet a doctor to get myself checked up. But I fear that as I enter the doctor's room and start explaining my symptoms, I might get tense and start experiencing breathlessness, palpitation, etc. The whole thought of experiencing breathlessness or palpitation is filling me with a sense of fear and I am not able to get myself to visit a doctor. Can you please guide me as to how I can address these fears and meet the doctor with confidence?

i have a close relative who has following symptoms:-
Extremely promiscuous behavior (conformed through various sources)
Extreme and inappropriate anger like rage.
- Least emotional and low IQ-
when confronted she reacts in a very hostile manner and starts crying with tears rolling down. Takes oath of her nearest relatives & starts blaming the accuser to prove her innocence. It appears from her reactions either she is highly manipulative or forgets the act after committing it. She does not accept if she has any psychiatric problem. When asked to see a psychiatrist, out rightly refuses and becomes hostile saying nothing was wrong with her. Refuses to take any medicine .what could be done for her treatment. Please help its extremely urgent.
