I am also trying to treat a one-year-old boy whose two older siblings have died of renal rickets.

Thanks very much.

Have a pre-mature grandson born at twenty-five weeks gestation diganoised with rickets and has been getting bone fractures in his wrist and hip. Is this common or is someone abusing my grandson? He is still in hospital! He was just born Sept. 1 of this year.

Grandma2, ask to have your grandchild tested for osteogenesis imperfecta. This sounds more like that than rickets, and it's something many doctors don't think to check for.
