Pierre Robin Syndrome / Bird Facies

The Pierre Robin Syndrome is a congenital condition which causes certain deformities in the face – a small jaw bone placed far back on the throat, a cleft palate, and a tongue which tends to fall back and obstruct the airway. Babies with the Pierre Robin syndrome have recurrent ear infections and problems feeding and sleeping.

could you advice does children with prs have poor motor skills example handwriting, and problems with their feet and eyes, is their any pierre robin syndrome have any defects in later life and depression / suken chest due to breathing problems as child, what is the long term effects to kids from 5 years on

I did the surgery on my son, If I could turn back time, I would have not done the surgery. He has extra saliva all the time now and possibly sleep apnia [sorry probably spelt that wrong]. Yes his speech got a little better, but not worth it.

Could anyone tell me that if I go for a cleft palate surgery at the age of 25 , then what will be the possibility of success.Also I want to tell you that because of my speech defect, I want to go for this operation.

I would do it. Go to a dr specializing in this. Both my sons had theirs repaired and it worked wonderful! A doctor that does this all the time can tell you if there is a good possibility of it working.

my son age 14 months have a hole in his mouth upper roof please tell me there is any medicine for him or surgery is only solution
