Menopause, or the permanent end of a woman’s menstrual periods and her ability to have a baby, is a natural stage of the life cycle for women. But menopause often goes with unpleasant physical symptoms (like hot flushes) and feelings of sadness and loss, and women need support to go through it.

But a hysterectomy means the woman can't have a child. If a woman already has a child or way past the child-bearing years, I think hysterectomy is a safe option for the treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding. But for women who wants to have children, other means of treatment for the bleeding should be considered.
