My son while treated for back pain undergone several physiotherapy e.g. SWD, TENS, LWD, IFT etc with heavy hot compress on electrical hot pad. None gave relief, rather pain went on incresing. He had, X-rays of different regions, MRI of Lumber sc with impression of mild bulge in L4-L5 region. Finally on USG kidney damage was detected which on further CT Scan and FNAC diagonised as malignancy. Advanced rapidly. Was severe physiotherapy has any role to activate cancer in a patient.

no, the physiotherapy treatment you mentioned can't activate cancer in any person but may heating modalities are contraindicated on the active site or just nearby site of malignancy as it may aggravate malignancy[which may be in this case]. well physiotherapy is not totally contraindicated in cancer, but the treatment options and their application changes. one thing i feel here is despite of no relief and increasing pain why didn't higher investigations and detail examination was done earlier and further reference and consultation was taken. your son might have started feeling pain due to nerve compression by bulging iv disc and the physiotherapy heating modalities like swd (not tens, ift) use for long duration helped the malignancy(which was present from before the pt treatment with minimal or no symptoms) to develope rapidly and started showing as unrelieved pain.

Dear Peeyushji,

I was really grateful to have your valuable comment on my post about four and half years back. I shall be indebted to you if you kindly provide me with some literature reference on the matter, application of SWD on malignancy, Looking forward to your kind response.
