actually, nvoyce, just because she was raised female, does not mean that she is female. when one is born, the doctor looks between the legs and says boy or girl. sometimes, their visual inspection is wrong. other times, on the outside, there is a 'mix' of genitalia. then it's more obvious that there's an issues, and usually surgery is done to 'correct the problem'. sometimes they guess wrong and make a boy into a girl and a girl into a boy and as the kid grows up, they feel 'wrong', some are suicidal. some think they are gay or transsexual (which is further complicated by the fact that an intersexed person can be gay or trans). anyway, as it turns out, this young person has tons of testosterone, no estrogen production, a very deep voice, a male chest and no female breasts, no womb, no ovaries, but testes instead. that's a birth defect, just one that was not obvious. it's most likely that Caster has always felt a 'bit different' not realizing why, but that's not the sort of thing one talks about generally, and especially not in countries where it can be dangerous to be or feel or seem different. so, it's up to Caster what to do about the situation, stay as female, or switch to male.

If her parents raised her as a female, then female she is. Apparently it was the dominate sex. She had grown up knowing herself to be female and now, because she is good at what she does, we want to question what she is? It is so sad to see society put pressure of this sort on a young woman who has apparently worked hard to get to the level that she has acheived. This is a child, people! How cruel can you be? What is White society scared of? Yes, I said it! White society is scared of losing itself. Come on my White sisters and brothers, there is room for all of us to co-exist in this world of our that GOD made for us to enjoy together. Everything is not Black & White America...I hate that we have to deal w/labels. Why can't we all be called "human beings". When asked to check my race...I leave it blank because I don't see a space for "human" or "GOD's creation". None of us! I repeat, NONE OF US had a say in what we wanted to be or how we wanted to look...we are GOD's creation and we are who he designed us to be. Therefore, when you say you don't like ______ (you fill in the blank), you are actually saying you don't like what GOD has created.

People need to look at themselves before making any judgment toward this young impressible lady. I feel also that this is being handle sinful, and God will bring this to those involved attend so think about what you are doing. Being a hallucigenia is not something that she put upon herself How stupid can society be human beings are not GOD so think about what you are doing someone else life put yourself in her shoes. Leave her along and find yourself a life.

Shit, this poor girl's story just kills me. This whole thing, which would most likely have been miserable for her ANYHOW, is just being handled in the most ridiculously leering, incompetent, hamhandedly carnival-barker way possible.

I want to give her a hug and tell her it doesn't matter, that her place in the world has not changed just because of all this inhumane bullshit. But I couldn't, even if I knew her, because our fucked-up ideas about gender mean it isn't true.
