Sir,
I have just retired from Govt. Service >I had attended that branch about 1 month before the policy would lapse, intending to renew my policy. The staff officer told me to come back a month later. Now I have missed my renewal date by 3 days and the company is refusing to renew my policy just because I have crossed 60 years. They had not sent me any notice and had refused to accept my premium 30 days before the date of expiry. Is it possible to be present at the pinpointed time always? What is the time range within which one can renew the mediclaim policies? What should I do now?

I and my family comprising of my wife and one son were covered under mediclaim from the year 2004. I used to pay premium every year till 2009(Sept'2009). Unfortunately due to certain problem in the family I could not deposit the necessary premium amount in time for the year 2009-2010. For the last 5years I did not lodge a single claim to the insurance company.

Can I renew the policy now?
