Dengue / Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever / Dengue Shock Syndrome

Dengue and dengue hemorrhagic fever are illness caused by a viral infection that spreads through the bite of the Aedes mosquito. The main symptoms are fever, headache, pain behind the eyes, muscle and joint pain and rash. Sometimes there may be bloody diarrhea or vomiting, and bleeding from mucous membranes and the gums.

the initial symptoms of chicken gunya and dengue are very similar. there is constant vomiting and nausea. this does not stop inspite of anti vomiting drugs
3rd day of fever is very important if there are respiratory complications like breathlessness and abdominal boating leads to clinically in favour of dengue. now there are card tests which are rapid reliable too. but costly in India.
chicken gunya chloroquin intramuscular injections are very effective . if given during 1st 3days it works wonders. the muscular swings and tendon swellings disappear fast.
if choloroquin is delayed the swellings last for many days
i would recommend choloroquin for treatment.
