Turmeric and onions are heart protective foods. They contain antioxidants and substances that help to reduce LDL cholesterol. There intake in a therapeutic way (eg, consuming onion juice, mix of turmeric powder, amla powder, jamun powder - 2 teaspoons in a day) has proven to reduce cholesterol and control blood sugars. They have no dierct impact on weight reduction per say. But they do help to reduce the bad fat.
