2. What is malabsorption?

Malabsorption is a condition in which the absorption of nutrients, vitamins, or minerals from the diet by the lining of the small intestine is impaired. May be due to injury to the intestinal lining, infections, some drugs, blockage of the lymphatic vessels, poor blood supply to the intestine, or diseases like sprue.
