Jenn - how are you feeling? Did you have to go for a follow up blood result? Has your ultrasound been scheduled yet?
AFM - I'm 10dpo and have absolutly no symptoms at all. No cramping, twinging, sore boobs - absolutely nothing. So I've lost hope on this cycle already. We will be doing IVF next round. I'm thinking of going on the bcp for 1 cycle and then move on to IVF on the following cycle. I always have cysts on day 3 so taking one cycle off will bring my hormones / cysts back to normal. You went on the bcp for a month as well right?

I went back in Sat and Mon and things were looking some what better until today. I went for bloodwork today and my estrogen crashed again. So tonight I'm taking double the dose of Puregon and will be back tomorrow for blood work and ultrasound to see if I lost the one follicle I had at around 15. On Monday my lining was good and my estrogen too so this is very frustrating.
Don't worry too much about not having any signs. Women form the OFC forum experienced the same thing and got pregnant while others had signs and didn't become pregnant on that try. Keep some hope!!!

Man! What a rollercoaster eh? Really hoping you get good follies, lining and estrogen tomorrow. Does one click of puregon mean 75IU? Or actually just one click b/c I think that's much less than 75. Best of luck!!

ya this cycle is not fun :( I'm on 75 IU of Repronex and have been on 25 of Puregon but bumped it up to 50 IU tonight. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow. I have no bleeding so that could be a good sign.
That's a good sign that Jenn didn't have any signs :) AKD I really hope you have good news!!!

Andrea - you are on such a low dose for the cycle day you are on. I went from 75 to 150 to 225 last cycle. Your RE for some reason takes things painstakingly slow. Hope you have great results today. Please keep us updated!
Jenn - woohoo!! Sounds like a strong pregnancy. The reason I think I'm out is b/c I didn't even get the cramps that you said you got in the uterine area. But I am still hopeful because anything can really happen. I had 4 follies and 82 million washed sperm in total. If no good news tomorrow then moving on to IVF.

So my lining is back up and I have one follicle almost ready to go and a second getting close. Should be able to trigger tomorrow. The increase of Puregon helped. Things seemed to have turned around yippee! Such a strange cycle considering it bottomed out half way through.
Yep they take things sooooooo slowly. They are so scared for multiples at this clinic. If this doesn't work this round I'm looking at IVF too. There's talk of it being covered by the province possibly in the future so I'll have to look more into the odds of that to decide if I should wait or not.
AKD will be checking tomorrow for updates! FX!!!!!!!! Hugs!!!!
Hopeful I'm glad you transferred - he seems like a good RE - good luck to you!

Looks like Sat will be the day to trigger. AKD I'll post the info for you on the weekend. Today I have two follicles at 13 and 17, my lining was about the same and my estrogen was at 912. Seems a bit crazy considering my hormones crashed twice during this cycle - the doses they have me on are so small which is why. So I'm sticking to the 75 Repronex and 50 Puregon - my body seems to be pretty sensitive to this stuff but looks like the increase was what I needed.
Have you in my thoughts and prayers today AKD! FX!

Andrea - things are finally shaping up!! Good luck :)
So as suspected, it was a BFN. I don't get it - I had 4 eggs, 82 million post wash sperm and a lining at 8.3. This was IUI # 5. We've done multiple strong cycles and I'm starting to get worried. Jenn's story give me hope though :) We're moving on to IVF. It will cost us $10,000 - really really hoping it works.

Jenn - you said that you took a month "off" and went on the bcp right? I am thinking of doing the same b/c I always have cysts at the end of each cycle that mess up my estrogen level in the beginning. Did you ever have cysts on your day 3 scans? They eventually go away but I'm worried they mess up the hormones. I know my RE's going to say that I can start now if I want but I want to know if that's safe. I will be put on generic HMG for my IVF (no menopur or follistim, I will definitely bring these up when I see my RE on the 26th). What was your estrogen on the day of trigger? I know that with IVF, there's so many follies which drastically increase the estrogen level. I'm sure I'll be asking you tonnes of IVF questions (sorry in advance lol). I'm hopeful yet afraid at the same time. A lot is riding on this IVF. We're already in a financial hole so really hoping it works for us. Did you start your meds on day 3 or day 5 of the cycle?

Don't even worry about asking me tons of question. I like doing what i can to help, but I might not remember everything.
I did have cycts after every cycle. Thats why they put me on the bcp to let my overies relax. You might wanna suggest that endometrim biopsy to your RE. Its the that gets rid of any plasma cells. I dont remember my estrogen on my trigger day. I know how you feel about financial hole, i had no idea what we were going to do if ivf dodnt work cause we were just about out of money! I started my meds day 4. I bet you ivf will work. The % is way better then iui. You actually have a better chance of getting preg then not getting preg! Good luck! Ivf is exciting.

Jenn - In the month that you were "off", did you take anything other than the bcp? I regularly take Vit D, Vit E and prenatals. I think I will stay on these during the next month. Any other suggestions? I will ask my RE about the hysteroscopy. Does it matter what cycle day it is done on? If it is scheduled, what day was yours done on? Also, you said that you did IVF with ICSI right? So there were 2 eggs where the sperm was directly inserted? This is ICSI right? Which embryos were implanted, the ones with ICSI or the ones where the sperm swam and found the eggs? On your IUI cycles, was your lining as thick as it was on the IVF cycle? My lining is averaging to about 8 with IUI's, I have a feeling it will get even thicker with the high doses of IVF. Did that happen in your case?
Trust me - the questions will stop by the next day. I'm just excited about IVF so I'm flooding you with questions lol - but soon I'll run out hehe.

AKD I'm sorry it was BFN :( I wonder if there are any good stats out there for women with our problem. I'd like to know the success rate and amount of tries for BMS and IUI vs IVF. IVF just has better odds, I know it's expensive, but if we're gonna spend all this time and money anyway I feel like why not go right to IVF?

AKD ~ i didnt take anything other than the bcp and prenate. I did that biopsy around the third week that i was on the bcp, but i dont think that matters. Yes we did ICSI with 2 eggs and the other 2 were in the dish with sperm. They implanted 1 of each. Sorry i dont remember my lining.
Andrea i wish they had a better idea of statistic rate for our condition. I prob would have gone straight to ivf instead of 6 iuis, but it was hard to know since my sister with PA got preg on their first iui!

Jenn - thanks so much for replying again. I am seeing my RE on Wednesday and I'll ask him about ICSI as well. He mentioned the biopsy himself without me saying anything so that's good. It will be on day 21 of the bcp. I got my period on Saturday - when should I be starting my bcp? When did you start it? I'll get the prescription from him on Wed and start it that day. Is there anything else I should be asking him at this point? How are you feeling? Can't wait for your ultrasound result on Wednesday :)

AKD ~ I'm glad he said something about it. I went on the pill 4 days after i started my period. so that's pretty close to my sch, and i had my biopsy 21 days too! I got my results about 4 days later and went on antibiotics. I was on them for about 11 days and went back for a follow up biopsy. Other then that, i can't thing of anything else you should ask. I hope your biopsy is good so you can get going on things sooner then I did.
I am feeling fine. Still no symptoms. I am starting to get a rash at my progesterone injection site. I'm going to call my RE to make sure this is okay. I can't wait for my US either. I'll let you know how it goes.

Jenn - why did you guys decide on ICSI? Did the RE recommend it? Does your husband have low count or motility / morphology issues? I was researching about ICSI and it's usually done when there's male factor issues. Do you remember what your hubby's count size was? You got Grade A embryos with and without ICSI right? I am wondering if our RE will let us do ICSI.

Our RE recommended ICSI for us. Prob just so we had something in case the other way didn't work. It's funny cause they told my husband that his sperm was the best they have seen all week and this is a big reproductive center. So i don';t think my husband was the issue. I don't remember his count. She did call our embryo a grade A but she never said whether it was the ICSI or not. Maybe you could ask if you can do half your embryos ICSI and half in the Petri Dish.

Jenn - yay for a healthy and "perfect" looking sac. I bet by the next ultrasound you will hear the hearbeat. When is the next ultrasound scheduled? Also a little relieving to hear that it is one baby. I know a couple of women who have PA and were carrying twins, both of them delivered very prematurely due to the small uterus (27 weeksish). So if you have one baby you are most likely going to go full term :D

yay Jenn! this is very good news :) That makes me so happy to hear!!
So I took my trigger Sat and they told me to start endometrin on Wed which I did. Woke up last night bleeding a lot. The RE on call at the clinic reviewed my entire chart. He says from what he sees I haven't had one follicle from these attempts that was good quality or I would have made it longer and wouldn't have bleeding throughout the cycle. He said to get pregnant we're looking at needing 4-6 tries with follicles of good quality. So I've got my follow up booked in April to talk about taking progesterone injections instead of endometrin but I want to consider IVF if they can tell me my eggs will be ok or just stop and adopt.

Oh no Andrea! I'm so sorry to hear about the bleeding. I have a feeling that your RE puts you on injections for way too long. Your injections are for like 25 - 27 days and that's not normal. I know she's worried about multiples but injecting for 25 days is not good - you will not get good eggs if you're incubating for that long - I could be wrong but that's what I'm thinking. You can definitely move on to IVF. You get a good lining, you HAVE eggs and you respond to medication. If your RE puts you on the correct protocol, I know this can happen for you. Don't think about adoption just. There's too much right going on to think about giving up just yet.

When I was on the bcp before, I usually got my period around CD 26 - in which case I would be safe. I'll await your response...thanks!

Yaaay Jenn for your healthy looking sac. I am so happy for you.
Andrea: Im so sorry to hear about your bleeding. I agree with AKD, i think your RE is going too slow and extending it too long with your treatment. Have you asked him why he wouldn't put you on a more aggressive cycle? What is his reasoning? Like for me, i'll be starting at 225 iu's of HMG.
AKD: Hey! I'm finally home now and ready to go full swing with my treatments. Aunt Flo should be visiting on Wednesday (my birthday). Oh, remember I was telling you about my friend who also had PA and was pregnant. Well, she delivered 3 weeks early. She said her water broke and she didn't even know it. She did not have a regular water break like other women. She went to the washroom, peed and then after a while had horrible back pains. When she decided to go to the hospital because she could not handle them, the nurse said her water had broken and she was in labor. Her labor was 12 hours long though. But she delivered a perfectly healthy baby girl.
Baby dust to us!!

Hi girls!
My name is Maria and I'm 23. I come from Sweden and therefore my english is not really perfect, hope you will get everything. :) I've been following your discussion for almost one year now and just decided to write myself. I have never posted anything on a forum before so it feels a little akward. When I've been reading I got surprised by how supporting and friendly everybody here seem to be. Though I didn't participate in the discussion I still felt a support from you guys. It's not many people out there with the same story as we have so I'm happy to see there's a place for us to talk, share stories and support each other..
I was diagnosed with PA when I was 17 and was then put on birthcontrol pills until little bit more than one year ago when I decided to stop them. I wanted to see how my body reacted and to see if the body had "recovered" during these years. But no, the period didn't come and now me and my husband are longing for a child.
My FSH level is as high as 48 and the LH is also way too high. The estradiol is super low so it doesn't seem very promising. I started with acupunture 3 months ago and since then I've been taking Chinese herbs as well. Will do a new blood test this week to see if the FSH went down. If not I will move on to IUI treatment. Anyone here with high FSH/LH and low estrogen levels?
I'm so happy to read about the happy news Jenn, congratulations! All the best to you!

Maria - Great to hear from you and welcome to the board :) ... It's true that there are not a lot of women out there with our condition. It is extremely rare and occurs in less than 0.1% of the population. Sucks that we are a part of this less than 0.1%. I don't remember what my blood results were when I started my investigative cycles at the fertility clinic. After my IUI's, my estrogen is always around 90, low lH (less than 1) and low FSH (less than 1). I believe that with our condition, if we are not undergoing any treatment (ie. bcp), our LH and FSH would be high. You're really young and good to hear that you're proactive at such a young age. I'm 26. I took the pill since I was 15, I stopped it for about 3 months when I was about 21 b/c the doc wanted to see if my body had changed - but nothing. I didn't get any period if I wasn't on the pill. I have been TTC for 6 months now, I've done 5 IUI cycles and will be moving on to IVF. Have you had HSG or scan of your ovaries done to see if there are any follicles? So far I know 8 women online who have PA and 5 of them have had kids or are pregnant :) ... we need to keep our faith and hope for the best - it will happen for us too! If you want to take things a little slower, the herbs and acu are a great option - but my RE told me from the beginning there's 0% chance I'll conceive without fertility treatments so I started right away and am still waiting but hopeful :)
Best of luck and keep us updated!
Andrea - how are you doing? It must have been to hard that the cycle ended as a bust. Really hoping you will get some good answers and move to your BFP protocol soon.
Hopeful - so great to hear from you. Glad that you're about to start cycling again. I go in for my biopsy on the 11th and have my IVF consuation on the 15th. I will probably get my period around the 15th or so. If the biopsy results are fine then I start IVF that cycle. Let me know if you need any help figuring out things at the clinic. The Brampton clinic is great for us b/c it's close to home, but I'll have to be at Mississauga the entire clinic b/c that's where they do IVF. Good luck and keep us updated :)
Jenn - thanks for getting back to me on my million questions. I will asking for half ICSI and also a day 5 transfer, lets see what the RE says to that. What medications are you taking since you became pregnant? Are your progesterone shots daily still or do you take oral pills? I wonder if I'll have to take the progesterone oil shots everyday or just the pills. Thinking healthy heartbeat and pregnancy thoughts for you :)

Sanaa - Good to hear from you. I know how you feel. When I didn't have my bf (now husband), I was really afraid of the future and who would want to marry me. But when the time is right, the right person will come along. The good thing is that you get your period with the pill - with PA 40% of women don't even get that. Many PA women, don't even have ovaries or a uterus - so we should be thankful that there's hope for us. But I know how you feel and it sucks :( ... Stay positive and stay strong. If you ever have any questions about PA - please don't hesitate to ask :)

Congrats Andrea on your BFP!! This is such great news. What a surprise!! What a good way to start off the week. I am so so SO happy for you.
Jenn: Yaayy for the strong heartbeat. Are you tranfering to a ob/gyn now?
AKD: Hang in there sweetheart! Its just you and me now! And if Jenn and Andrea can get pregnant than so can we. Money will grow back. Just have faith and evrything will work out.
AFM: I am on CD 13. I have 4 very strong follicles. As of today (injection day 12) my follies are measuring at 18, 17, 16 and 14. My uterus lining is at 9.1. LH still low. My estrogen level jumped 3000 points from CD 8 to CD11 and i'm sure it'll be higher by the time i get my b/w results later on today. Doc said to come in again for monitoring tomorrow and then I should be triggering!!! My doc also advices theres a BIG chance for multiples. Honestly, at this point i'd be happy with anything. This is so exciting as I have never made it this far before. My husband and I celebrate everytime my follies grow. LOL.

HI AKD - sorry I've been missing in action - I started a new job last week so I've been super busy. I'll see what my RE says in a couple of weeks. I'm totally against continuing with the same protocol I've been on so I'll see what they say. I hope all goes well with your biopsy and am crossing my fingers for you!
Jenn I'm super happy for you. Keep us updated!
Welcome Mariaaa :) I was diagnosed at age 16 but not put on the bcp (I'm from a small town and blame it on their lack or experience with this). If I'm not on bcp then my FSH and LH levels are high. At one point so high they thought I had partial or full ovarian failure bit they weren't correct about that since I respond to injections. This site is really supportive and I know it makes me feel less alone with this problem that is so uncommon.
Sanna some bcp pills are low dose - I know my period was very light almost like spotting for other women. I know it's hard not to stress and believe me I've been there and know how bad it can be but don't stop taking the pill - you r body needs the hormones and don't give up hope because there is hope and treatments do work. Something that took me until age 32 to learn! I wish I knew that earlier!

Oh also I agree with what AKD said about thinking you wont find anyone. I dated people for a while who didn't want kids because I didn't want to go through the stress iof having this become a problem. But when I got over that silliness I found that you are then open to meeting someone who is right and who is willing to try and find a way to have a child or even be open to adopting if need be There are many options open to you so don't think like it should stop you from finding happiness.

Hello ladies. Sorry I have been MIA. Just been extremely busy with work. So good to see new faces on here. Don't worry Sanaa and Maria, you guys have reached the right place. We are all here to help eachother out. It is very unfotunate we have this condition but what can you do?!!
Sanaa: Your name sounds indian/pakistani. I'm from pakistan and when you say "the society where i live no one would be ready to marry me" I know exactly what you mean. Its unfortunate our society is like that BUT trust me when I say the new generation of this society don't think like that. Before I met my husband I too used to think exactly like you. I used to cry/stress to the max but when I finally met my husband and told him about PA, his first reaction was "So? There's always adoption". I honestly never thought I would get such a laid back reaction like that. I too was scared to meet people because i knew nobody would marry me. Even my in laws are very supportive. So don't worry Sanaa. When the right guy comes around, he'll take all your fears away. And like AKD said, we do have a chance because we do have ovaries and uterus. It will just take sometime to be able to have a child. We just have to be patient.
Maria: I was diagnosed with PA at the age of 14 but at that point my doctors said I did not and will not grow ovaries/uterus. So I lived with that till the age of 21 till my mom pushed me into seeing a gyne just to see if things changed. And luckily they did see small ovaries and a normal uterus. She then prescribed me birth control. Now that i am married we are looking into having a baby. My FSH/LH e2 are all very low. But nothing some very expensive injections can't fix ;) Keep up posted.
Andrea: When do you see your RE again to discuss different protocol? Can you maybe change to another RE who might have more experience with PA?
AFM: I'm on my day 5. I only have one follicle this cycle. Started 225 iu's of HMG on cd2. Going in for my follow up tomorrow morning. Hoping more follicles pop up on the u/s. I'm thinking of doing 2 cycles of timed. If that doesn't work then doing 2 cycles of IUI and if still no luck then moving onto IVF.
Jenn: how have you been feeling? Any morning sickness yet? When is your next u/s?

hopeful - good to hear from you. You have a normal sized uterus - that's awesome!!! Myself (and all other women that I know with PA) have an infantile / underdeveloped uterus. That's great news :) ... best of luck on your u/s tomorrow - keep us updated.

Went in for my follow up today. Another follie has popped up on the ultrasound scan. Now I have one on each ovary (*Happy dance). But my thyroid is acting up so now I am on lewthyroxine to bring it back to normal. Also, my nurse called later saying that my bloodwork showed no increase in my estrogen so now my RE is up-ing my HMG dosage to 300 IU's!!!!

hi ladies - so some interesting news to share. My breast have been killing me so on Sunday I was grocery shopping, bought a pregnancy test and took it in the store washroom. It was positive so today I took another and it was positive. Im shocked considering how my last round of injections went and all the bleeding I had 4 days after the trigger shot. Anyway will see my RE on Friday and have asked to get a blood test done. Will keep you posted.

OMG. This is such great news Andrea. How can you wait that long till friday? I am getting impatient here. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I hope and pray its a BFP!!!!
I have never been this far in my cycles before. I now have 5 follicles. All growing well. MY TSH was off so i'm on meds for that. All seems fine now though. I'm on CD12 right now. | have one follie at 14mm, one at 13mm and the rest are at 10mm. I see my RE tomorrow to discuss IUI. I had initially planned on doing Timed but because everything seems to be going so well i'm considering adding IUI to my timed. If all goes well I should be triggering this weekend. :)
Jenn: Good luck on your u/s today. Hope you can finally hear the heartbeat!

Hopeful - you're responding soo well. Hoping this is the BFP for you :). Only 2 of us left now, we gotta make it happen!!!

Andrea - congratulations!!!! You must be over the moon. That's wonderful news. What was your beta number? Best of luck on the ultrasound on Friday - hope you see a beautiful sac.
AFM - I had my biopsy on Monday. I will find out the results and have my IVF consultation with the doctor on Friday. I'm excited but extremely nervous - what if this doesn't work for me? We'll be putting almost $10K out of our pocket. I will try to be more positive b/c that can of course only help the outcome :)
Jenn - thinking of you :) Great that you saw another strong heartbeat. Just a matter of time before you hear it now.

LOL.
