Primary Amenorrhea

Primary amenorrhea is a condition when a girl has not started menstruating by the time she is 16, even though other signs of puberty, like breast development and the appearance of pubic hair, are normal. Besides hormonal abnormalities and other illnesses, low body weight or obesity, stress and rigorous exercise can cause primary amenorrhea.

Should I tell my boyfriend about it or not?

I was diagnosed with PA when I was 16. Life hasn't been easy after that, though I have managed the condition with the help of herbs and HRT. I got into a serious relationship, and got comfortable enough to tell the guy about my condition, but I was insulted by him for having a condition over which I have no control. Now, again, I am in a relationship and I have lost my confidence and don't want to tell the guy about it. Should I tell or not?

Hi! You should definitely talk to him about it. Hopefully he'll understand it makes this process a lot easier when you have someone to talk to!
