There is a rise in the marketing and selling of e-cigarettes. If indeed e-cigarettes are harmful and does not deliver what it promises [to help people quit smoking], I think it's time that it will be pull out of the market. The government should do something about this since instead of helping people, it's dangerous to the health.

I have an e-cigarette. I did purchase the item as a quit smoking aid as having smoked for 20 years and trying to quit for the last 7, nothing was working. I have tried patches, gum, lozenges, inhalers, hypnotherapy, acupuncture and nothing has worked. My first real success seems to have come with the e-cigarette which began as a nicotine device and then later I started substituting the nicotine for nicotine-free cartridges. Here are my concerns with the article and current government thinking on e-cigarettes. Cigarettes - the leading cause of death are LEGAL. E-Cigarettes, as yet unproven are being questioned. If the government were really concerned about the health issues, cigarettes would be criminalised. Not being a scientist, I couldn't tell you if e-cigarettes are worst, better or whatever - but they would have to be bad to be worst than the leading cause of death in Australia, don't you think? The difference between e-cigarettes and the more traditional counterpart really boils down to taxation. Cigarettes, due to the way the industry has been structured, policed and monitored provide BILLIONS in revenue for the state and federal governments. Queensland Health are seizing e-cigarettes, widely used as a quit smoking aid yet allowing the leading cause of death on the streets - keeping in mind, cigarettes are widely smoked by teenagers. The leading cause of death in Australia will never be criminalised because of the revenue stream it provides for the goverment - yet a device widely used to help people quit smoking is being frowned upon? Are they that desperate for our money they would happily kill us?

Anything with chemicals in it would be suss to me. Have you tried hypnotherapy? Drug-free and safe.

Well said... I am myself a 15 year smoker of traditional cigarettes..and to tell u the truth I hated myself for my bad habit. Then I got myself an e-cig, and I could have never believed , that letting go of smoking was actually this easy, all I can regret of e-cig is...that I should have started it a lot early.. Happy Vaping guys
