Having a pap smear exam should be encouraged in women. This test is needed to detect any changes in the cervical mucosa, indicating the progression of cervical cancer. I think it is more than a cultural thing, ignorance and being not up-to-date to current medical trends are the culprit. That's why information campaign is needed.
