I am a little confused. I thought too much calcium was the cause of kidney stones, but you think I should take more? I've received much kidney stones treatment in the past, and my doctors have all said the key to preventing them is citric acid.

Dear Doctor,
My son had calcium, oxalates and cysteine when stone analysis was done. He also had cyst in the left kidney. On 13th of this month, his BUN suddenly increase to 39.5mg/dl [NV-7-21 mg/dl, Crea 1.68mg/dl (NV-0.7-1.4mg/dl] and blood uric acid-11.86 (NV7.7mg/dl). He was diagnosed as bilateral calcinosis for more than 1 year now.
