The problem with seeking help is that trauma can be exacerbated from advisors and counselors themselves who turn a blind eye or give harmful advice. It happened to me at a college job abuse I had, where the people who were supposed to help, certified professionals, looked away to the side because they didn't want to risk their positions. This was over a decade ago, but the curse of betrayal plagues me still.
At this point, the only way I can move forward is to reform social institutions themselves. I reach out to others to some degree, but ultimately will never count on others to help.
