I can understand that mothers should feed only breastmilk to their babies and avoid any other form of milk so that babies will have good immunity.

However, I wish to point out the issue of inadequate milk. When my baby was born, I was told to breastfeed it exclusively. This I did for a month. However, I noticed that after each feed, the baby would cry heavily.

Let me highlight that I had taken the advice of a lactation consultant on how to breastfeed effectively. The baby had no problem latching on effectively to consume breastmilk. I also held it in the correct position facing me while breastfeeding. However, the baby continued crying after each feed. My paediatrician then recommended that I top feed my baby with Lactogen after feeding my baby with my milk.

Thus, every time after I breastfed, I would provide Lactogen to my baby. I fed it frequently every four hours in this manner daily. Now my baby is 5 months old and has been following this pattern of breastfeeding followed by Lactogen. Her weight is normal but she experienced some constipation recently.

I continue to experience a poor flow of breastmilk. My baby suckles for only 1 or 2 mins and then starts crying for more. Then I'm forced to feed her Lactogen since I do not have any other choice.

Recently, I heard about a product called B-Colostrum which is very similar to mother's milk. Can I provide this to my baby and where can I obtain this product in Chennai?
