My father was examined at post mortem in may 2008, following death after heart attack during bypass surgery. My family were present at the inquest, and were basically told that his heart was too weak to have survived the trauma of surgery. Having read the article I am now extremely concerned that the pathologists findings were correct, or was my father not examined as thoroughly as he deserved, was his vessel treated with the utmost care and respect that such a good man deserved? Was the cause of death thoroughly looked into? I seriously have my doubts now. We deserve to know what the exact failings were, without the certified jargon attached. My father and many more like him, have families who deserve the courtesy of full disclosure of all findings.
