Medicines being sold in the Auyurvedic, Siddha and Unani category should also be included in the 'whistle blower' scheme. The amount of spurious and positively dangerous drugs manufactured under these categories are very much more'

The idea of rewarding whistle blowers is not a bad one but in order to effectively control spurious drugs the Government must exercise controls over the millions of medical stores in the country that distribute these drugs.
The drug stores must maintain a record of purchases which in turn must be checked strictly.
