Once again, like during Vietnam, Jane Fonda demonstrates her ... shall we say, lack of knowledge. While there is a genetic component to osteoarthritis (and hello ... every disease has a genetic component), there is also a substantial environmental component. I predicted years ago that she would beat up her weightbearing joints (including her spine) with her workout and lo and behold ... Why? Because patients who were doing her workouts were coming in with all kind of symptoms. So many of these celebrity exercise people claim to be knowledgeable about exercise but really don't under the biomechanical, neurophysiologal, and pathological issues that are involved. So much for amateurs.
