As the offspring of at least one and perhaps two first cousin marriages in my ancestry, I do not believe there has been any adverse effect in my family tree.

My cousins are married and have two healthy children without any problems. I know a few more cases like that in Andhra Pradesh, India. Consanguinous marriages were common and are not banned.

Cousin marriages are there in India but offspring deformities are rear.
