For me whole of this issue is first related to medical ethics and second related to criminal negligence (not employing anesthesia professional and asking non-medical professional to operate, even under supervision).
But even police action in this case employing so many IPC provisions is unwarrented and unjustified, a knee jerk reaction to public and media outcry.
One has to remember that in a crime, intention is very important. Here there was no intention to harm the patient. Patient is doing fine. Doctors parents wanted their son's name in guiness book of world records. INTENTIONS WERE PURE BUT NOT THE MEANS.
