Medical tourism is only a hype in India. Maybe some of the NRI expatriates do like to have treatment in India as medical facilities and communication in Middle east is not that great. Otherwise this business of people from west coming in hordes for treatment to India is only a myth. Also remember there are lot of whites now working in India and they and their relatives also seek treatment. This should not be looked at as medical tourism. If we wish to get these tourists; our medical support services needs to improve by leaps and bounds. There are some hospitals who have their brokers sitting in some of the middle eastern countries - trying to attract patients to India; but this I think is unethical.

Why wouldnt anyone choose India hospitals for low cost and high quality surgery? It's hard to ignore the advantages of medical tourism in India.
