Linac was designed almost 10-15 years back and there has been hardly any progress to manufacture it commercially so far. India needs 100s of such machines and making only two per year is not going to help. Government need to take this project seriously and come with action plan so that at least 50 machines can be manufactured every year. China has three firms making such machines and now Varian has also joined hands and putting up its first manufacturing unit in China. India needs to move faster else we will remain trailing for ever. Sameer should leave such ventures to industry and remain involved only at R&D level.
