First you should get your facts right. Cuttack is not the capital of Orissa. Bhubaneswar is. And please leave Budhia alone. He will do fine. He's running because if he doesn't, he would die an anonymus death in some slum in Orissa. And you and the media wouldn't even bother.

It is a Hobson's choice. Had Budhia not run the 65 kilometers to his fame, he would be a famished child of under five, meeting his Maker very soon un-wept, & unhonoured. That he saved himself from such a plight is praiseworthy.

But for elders to justify that Budhia did the right thing and should be left alone, is the most cruel joke of the year. In Patnaik's Orissa, where famine and hunger is a daily feature, this young 4 & 1/2 year old did have the grit to save himself from certain death, is highly commendable, even though for wrong reasons.

I fervently pray to the Powers that Be in Orissa, nay in all of India, that such cruel and appalling indignity should not be perpetrated on young and growing children.

It is nice to set goals and achieve them. But for four and half yr.kid,Budhia,it is too much.I do not think he makes the decision of himself. It is better for ALL of us to prepare him for greater things but slow and steady. It is not worth burning him too fast.
