Agree. Our survival rates for acute liver failure who undergo live related liver transplant are excellent too, and better than those quoted for deceased donor transplant. One reason is that the time from diagnosis to transplant is shorter in live related liver transplant, hence transplant is done before the patient becomes too ill. The other is that live donors undergo far more extensive testing than dead donors, as a result of which the donated livers are of better quality.
