Maybe humanity should consider high speed transatlantic trains that run in glass tubes rather than on rails, instead of ever increasing air travel. Glass or semi-glass transit tubes would be much more cost effective over time, and could produce speeds of 500 plus MPH, using much less energy than the airliners are consuming. And do so with much less damage to the environment.
