Recently I concluded my opinion about the BSE- see my website (www.bse-expert.cz) and my "opinion- article“; about the link between „BSE and Alzheimer´s disease“ (http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/youropinions.php?opinionid=11677). This alternative „ ammonia- magnesium“ theory is based on the chronic Mg-deficiency- potentiated by hyperammonemia.
Link between Mg-deficiency and diabetes?
The causes of Mg deficit in diabetes mellitus are probably multiple. Mg deficit can occur either in insulin- dependent (Type I) or in non- insulin - dependent (Type II) diabetes mellitus ( MATZ,1993: MATHER et al., 1979: Am.Diab. Assoc., 1992). Individuals with diabetes mellitus are at an increased risk of developing Mg deficit mostly due to renal losses, in particular during diabetic ketoacidosis (ROFFI et al., 1994).
