Dengue fever and chikungunya fever outbreaks have been reported to occur in several south eastern countries. This is because both the virus are transmitted by the same mosquitoes called Aedes. Aedes mosquito species multiply in collections of stagnant water like the artificial containers. Mosquito control plays a crucial role in control of these outbreaks.
