I sympathize with the child. The invasions into the Middle East were based totally on lies of the Bush Administration, so it appears that the if the child did kill a US soldier he was probably only defending what he felt defending what was right. Why do the People of the US not stand up against the tyranny and genocide terror of their government.

Not only do I sympathize with the Child, I beleive the (Farce) Military "Lawyers" have & ARE commiting More War Crimes with these "Trials"! As an American & a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, I am extremely sickened by this continuing farce of the Bush Administration! We cannot close Gitmo down fast enough & We cannot press hard enough for the Bush Administration to face a War Crimes Trial!!

When the troops entered the compound there were two wounded. They killed one and shot Khdar in the back with that intent.
That's a war crime and the Sargent involved should be prosecuted as a war criminal..

This child, now an even more damaged young man, has been victimized & punished more than enough! The circumstances that led to his imprisonment were preceded by years of family brain washing. I would think that the original culprits are his family who should be charged with child endangerment, mental cruelty, brain washing, child neglect. They are the ones who deserve the cruel punishment that has been meted out to this irreparably damaged young man. Perhaps they should have taken his place in prison, since they are responsible. Or perhaps they themselves might enjoy living in Afghanistan under those conditions rather than in safe comfort in Canada, a privilege which they obviously do not appreciate or deserve. His victimization has been continued with his inhumane treatment by government officials during his imprisonment ........ while waiting for a 'speedy trial'. In civil law, there is a major protest if a mass murderer has to wait too long for a trial. Inhumane treatment of animals arouses a major uprise in sympathy & subsequent protests, but apparently not so with this person. This all under the auspices of a Christian country who sets examples for non Christians on how to treat others.
