Cancer cevix is still the most common cancer in Indian women - breast cancer is the highest in only few of the metropolitan cities - as documented by the NCRP - ICMR registries all of which except for two are urban in location - but breast cancer gets more visibility in India because it affects a different social class of women - efforts hence are made by those in power to concentrate on early detection and treatment of breast cancer - when even though a policy for prevention is available no attempt has ever been made to implement it in India
