About a month ago another study with a much much larger pool of participants found no reduction in the incidence of advanced breast cancer from the use of mammography. Other prior research also confirmed that. About six weeks ago a large Canadian study found no mortality reduction from mammographic screening. There is a mountain of evidence against the general use of mammography [read "The Mammogram Myth" by Rolf Hefti] because the test seriously harms most women while providing no significant benefit to most of them. More frequent mammograms simply means more harm to women without eliciting a noteworthy value to them.
