1. What are the causes of brain tumor?

The ultimate cause of brain tumor is not known but various factor such as radiation exposure and poly vinyl chloride increases the chance of developing brain tumor.

2. Is it inherited from one generation to the other?

No, it is not inherited. But individuals with family history of gliomas are likely to develop brain tumors.

3. Is surgery necessary for brain cancer?

Surgery is the mainstay of treatment for malignant and benign carcinoma of the brain. The success rate is very high.

4. Is it curable?

Yes it is curable in case of benign tumors but in case of malignant cancers the prognosis is very poor.
