asthma in children

The general cause for asthma is allergy. Allergens may include...dust, smoke, sudden variation in climate, food n drinks, clothes, severe viral or bacxterial infections. o/ex...bronchospasm(wheeze initially expiratory and later inspiratory),and cyanosis occ.creeping more in the basal region. The patient can be classified into mild, moderate and persistent on the basis of clinical history. Sevetre persistent asthma is generally treated BBY inhalants. I treated my children by nebulizing with asthalin, ipravent and budrecort respiratory solutions in prescribed doses and as per severity of the case. Oral prednisolone a short course has to be given. Parents should be counselled and asked to avoid the allergens. If there is fever,we need to give antibiotics, vitamin supplement with zinc which plays a good role in lull phase.
