treatment of symptomatic fibroids depends on age of the patient, severity of symptoms,completion of the family etc,
so according to these your wife can go for medical treatment like analgesics for pain, oral contraceptives to detect bleeding, GnRH agonists to decrease the size of fibroid, before you have to consult gynecologist and take her advice then proceed accordingly.
