My mother is suffering from deep keratitis. She had been treated with steoids & antibiotics. Now she is taking lubricants in the eye.But she constatantly complains of continuous lacrimation & haziness.Nearby ophthalmologist told me that there cannot be done anything in this case, except giving her ACICLOVIR systemically & that too when it becomes severe & recurrent. You please kindly give your opinion.

I think giving a systemic course of acyclovir will help.Deep seated viral keratitis is often difficult to treat and recurrences are very common.
