what is proptosis?I want to know about the disease exactly and ways to treat?Is it congenital?If it is congenital,can it be cured by maxillofacial surgery?

Proptosis is abnormal protrusion of eyeball. The most common cause is thyroid disorder. It can be congenital also.Usually surgery is not done for congenital cases.
