-as you had two previous miscarriages your doctor's may suspected some chromosomal or hormonal problem and adviced chain of investigations.
-AMH is anti-mullerian hormone,
it is having role in folliculogenesis, it prevents excessive follicular stimulation by FSH(follicular stimulating hormone),
-its normal value for your age is 1 to 10 ng/ml,
-the higher value is indicating the possibility of poly cystic ovarian disease,
in which heperinsulinemia with insulin resistance is a feature,
may be because of that your doctor recommended metformin, which is a insulin sensitizer,
-so better you plan for pregnancy after starting tablets as your doctor told.
