Based on the given height, your ideal body weight (IBW) should be around 74kg. In order to lose weight you need to cut down your Carbohydrate (White rice, sugar, pasta, noodles, white bread, potatoes etc) and Fat intake (Oil, butter, cheese, cream). Increase protein levels in your diet by eating egg whites, soy bean, legumes, sprouts, low fat dairy products and fish.
As you have a broken thigh bone, your Calcium intake should be increased. This can be done by consuming – Skimmed milk, Calcium fortified fruit juices, fat free buttermilk/yogurt, green leafy vegetables, Oatmeal, Flax seeds, sesame seeds, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and oranges.
Reduce your caffeine intake as it hampers calcium absorption in your body. Avoid red meat, sodas, alcohol, foods high in Salt and processed or junk food. Opt for healthy snack options like fruits and vegetables as they are full of vitamins and low in calories.
Some form of work-out is a must along with the dietary changes (mentioned above) in order to lose weight. But consult your physician before engaging into any exercise. Let me know if you have any further questions.
