Dear Janaki,
You need to make some changes in your eating pattern.Don't ever skip meals as it leads to slower metabolism. You need to space out your meals i.e. eat 5-6 small meals instead of 2 large meals which will prevent you from getting hungry and over-eating. Eating small and frequent meals will also keep your metabolism up. Try to have lots and lots of water. Dinner should be light since there is no activity after that. Avoid fried food and sweets. Eat fruits and veggies in large quantities as they will keep you full for a longer time. In fruits avoid banana, mango, litchi, cheeko and grapes. Try to include salads and soup for dinner and reduce dinner roti to one. Keep low fat snacks like roasted chana, soya, murmura and bran/ digestive biscuits for munching / in-between snacks. You can keep track of your food intake by writing a food dairy. This will help you to account each and every food item you have consumed. I hope these small changes in your diet will help you lose some weight. But remember that your weight-loss will be slow because of thyroid so you need to be patient.
