hi Nagesh,
thanks for the query.
normal semen values are,
- at least 50% or more to be progressively motile.
- 75% or more should be living.
before going to treatment you verify whether you have taken test the properly.
to undergo semen analysis around 3 days of abstinence is enough, more than that can lead to presence of aged sperms and abnormal report.
decreased motility of sperms is called asthenospermia and decreased viability is called necrozoospermia.
The possible causes for this are,
-presence of bilateral varicocele,
- defective sperm production due to hormonal disorder,
-injury to seminiferous tubules of the testes,
-diseases affecting the testes like mumps,
- deficiency of nutrients like zinc, vitamin C, selenium etc,
- excessive heat in working environment or using hot tubs etc,
- habits like smoking.
There is no totally effective treatment for these problems,
after consulting andrologist, under his guidance you can try these things,
-cause should be treated
-if varicocele is present surgery is needed.
-drugs like clomiphene, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, HMG and HCG injections etc may be useful.
-high protein diet to be taken,
-if improvement will not occur with above measures alternative therapy like In vitro fertilization can be followed.
take care.
