Before you start on any exercise program, it is advisable to consult a physician personally, more so because you have two risk factors for a cardiac disease. What about your weight? Is it in the normal range? Is your hypertension and cholesterol under control with medications? Do you have other symptoms like chest pain or breathlessness? Is there a positive family history for myocardial infarction?
So based on all this the doctor may advice you to under go a treadmill test. In which you will be asked to exercise on a treadmill, under the supervision of a doctor. This test will help to gauze the exercise permissible for you.
