Is Amlodipine contraindicated in Aortic Stenosis? If so, why? Dr MN Menon

Amlodipine is contraindicated in severe aortic stenosis. Since it causes vasodilatation, it worsens the pressure gradient across the aortic valve, which is already compromised in aortic stenosis.
