First of all congrats for having a baby.I can understand the concern of a father like you.If your baby had not cried for 25 minutes after birth , I see that he did not transit smoothly from mother's womb to this world while 90% of baby's do it smoothly. So the reason for your baby not doing it right may be many ranging from infection with bacteria /virus to some disorder.but the fact that ur baby was having fits suggests that he had reduced oxygen reaching his brain due to late crying or due to bacteria. He must have been treated for both.
coming to the present problem u need to do a few things. One follow up ur baby with a good pediatrician. Some babies may become fully normal after a fits in newborn period.U are telling that he continously looks on left.If he is doing it often u need to check if he is having silent fits when doing that. For that u need a EEG and pediatric neurologist consultation.what you can easily do is find out if your son is developing normally.5 month old babies can roll over . lift head from bed when lying on the stomach.shows interest in bright toys. will smile at mother and laughs loud so if he is doing all this u need to worry only a little but if not u are going to see a pediatrician to help your son attain his milestones. u need to continue and alter medicines for fits . U might also need to increase the dose as your son is growing and his weight is increasing. but do it only after consulting a doctor. I think i m clear do write if you have further doubts.Thank you
