Hi! Depression and decreased immunity have been reported to co-occur more frequently than would be by chance. However, we are uncertain of a causal relationship between the two. More often than not, a person suffering from depression, is more likely to be perturbed and impaired by common infections and/or diseases, than a person who is not depressed.
Irrespective of the above observation, nicotine is not a healthy drug. Your use of nicotine gum/lozenges etc for concentration, is more a sign of dependence than of concentration being low. Its use for prolonged periods is definitely unwise, as it is harmful to health.
